Telling Tales: A Fall Storytelling Festival at Berkwood Hedge School

Admission: $5 per person or $15 per family
Diane Ferlatte, Olga Loya, Eth-noh-tec and Joel ben Izzy will kick off the community-wide celebration of oral tradition and individual creativity. Numerous other local artists, reflecting a rich variety of cultural and storytelling styles, will perform throughout the afternoon, including:

The family-friendly event is open to the public.
Festival-goers will have the opportunity to participate in interactive art projects and try their hands at crafting their own stories. Fresh food will be available for purchase, as well as CDs and books by featured storytellers.
"Telling Tales" will take place at the Berkwood Hedge School campus, located at 1809 Bancroft Way in central Berkeley, and two adjacent blocks. This year's event coincides with the sixtieth anniversary of Berkwood Hedge, a K-5 with a lively history of involvement in progressive education and social justice issues. Numerous former staff and alumni are expected to attend and share their own personal stories about "the olden days."
