Okay, so the proper way for me to do this would be to make this announcement via a YouTube video. And I will soon, I promise.

"The Ancient Art of Storytelling" Group at YouTube hereby issues a challenge for the month of June 2007 for storytellers to upload as many stories on video as they can.

I meant to announce this last week. So get to work.

The Gypsy Moon Tellers must have been reading my mind because they've already added two.

New ones, old ones*, doesn't matter. Sound doesn't sync up? Yeah, that's weird, it's a problem, but if you can live with it, so can we.

Will there be prizes? Maybe. Bragging rights? Definitely.

Join the group at http://www.youtube.com/group/oralstorytelling
Click Add Videos.

Oh, and PLEASE only add videos of storytelling. Not promotional videos about you as a teller. Not an interview with you about storytelling. The challenge is to add stories.

* If you've got videos of yourself on videotape, you're gonna need a black box thingy to translate it to a digitial signal. Apparently, these are not common items lying around A/V labs.

OK, even though I'm embarassed by the speeded up video, it's still viewable.
But I'm not sure I loaded it correctly to the group Ancient Art of Storytelling. Please let me know if you can't find it there.
